As part of our business strategy of constant innovation in solutions for our clients, APLICARD is launching its most environmentally friendly card: as a result of a sustainable manufacturing process, we have produced a card made from a single sheet of 100% biodegradable paper with the same dimensions (54 mm x 86 mm), thickness (780 µ) and magnetic stripe are the same as a plastic card, but it is environmentally friendly throughout the entire manufacturing process.
The raw material used to manufacture the APPLECARD complies with the EN 13432 standard with regard to:
- Biodegradability
- Degradation during the biological process
- Impact on the treatment of the biological process
- Effects on the quality of the resulting compost
Biodegradable PVC Applecard
The raw material used for biodegradable PVC cards is based on the standard PVC structure, but is able to biodegrade in a short period of time (around 40 months) when placed in a natural environment.
This exceptional result has been achieved through the use of additives and adjustments to the PVC decomposition process.
Our new PVC materials are able to attack and break down the polymer chains; the final result is the destruction of the chemical bonds, ultimately producing water, carbon dioxide and salts.
The biodegradability has been certified by an external and independent laboratory, and this new biodegradable PVC can be used without any changes to the manufacturing process; it combines the high technical efficiency of PVC with the strong market demand for an environmentally friendly product.
