Card personalisation and encoding
Printing methods
Aplicard offers the option to customise cards according to its clients’ specifications using industrial equipment, for both large initial runs and subsequent small batches. Customisations can be either graphical or electronic.
A printing method that uses heat and pressure to melt the resin on the ribbon onto the card’s PVC, thereby printing the customer’s variable data, such as their first name, surname and customer number.
A printing method in which the iodine pigments of the ribbon are transformed from the solid to the gaseous state by applying heat and pressure to the PVC of the card. Once the colour printing is complete, a 0.025-micrometre film is applied to prevent the iodine pigments from subliming again due to heat. The print resolution is 300 dpi, and this method is commonly used to print the cardholder’s photograph for identification purposes.
We have the equipment to customise various types of contact and proximity chips to meet our clients’ requirements.
Once applied, it allows the cardholder to sign or write on its surface. It is available in white or transparent and in various sizes.
A thin film, usually made of latex, applied to the surface of the card to conceal information. It can be easily removed by scratching it off.
It is a multiline, continuous, variable-length code with a high data storage capacity. The code contains all the information; there is no need to access any file.
